Buy credits

Top up Studio Credits to keep AI working when the included monthly pool runs out.

Studio Credits cover AI work — chat turns, migration plans, project briefs, edit-existing helpers. Each plan includes a monthly budget per seat; top-up credits are an additional pool you purchase whenever you want, never expire, and only get spent after the included pool is empty.

When both pools reach zero, AI calls return HTTP 402 Payment Required and the chat surfaces a Buy credits prompt.

Buy from the Billing page#

  1. Open Billing

Workspace dashboard → Billing in the left nav.

  2. Trigger the purchase flow

In the AI usage card, click Buy credits (or Buy more → under the Top-up balance line).

  3. Pick an amount and pay

Stripe-hosted checkout. Credit packs are denominated in dollars. Pay with the card on file or add a new one.

  4. Use immediately

The new balance is live as soon as Stripe confirms the charge. The next AI message goes through.

Buy from the chat (when blocked)#

When AI is paused because credits are at zero, the chat shows a Buy credits prompt inline. Clicking it deep-links into the same Stripe flow as the Billing page, then returns you to the editor with the message you tried to send still in the input box.

What does and doesn't expire#

PoolExpires?
Included this monthYes — resets on the first of each month, unused credits do not roll over
Top-up balanceNo — purchased credits roll month after month until used

Common questions#

Do I have to buy credits to keep working? Only if you want AI. The rest of Studio (file editing, deploys, docs, preview, browsing) keeps working when AI is paused.

Are top-ups refundable? Top-up purchases are non-refundable but never expire — the safest stance is to buy what you need, when you need it.

Should I top up or upgrade? If your burn rate consistently exceeds the included pool, upgrading is cheaper per credit. If you have an unusual month — a big migration, a heavy planning week — top-ups are right-sized.
