Manage members

Invite teammates to the workspace, add external collaborators per project, and remove access.

Studio has two layers of access:

  • Workspace members — everyone here automatically has access to every project. They sign in to the workspace and see the full surface.
  • External collaborators — clients, contractors, or anyone you only want on a single project. They get a project-scoped invite and only see that project.

Roles for workspace members are Owner or Admin. Studio doesn't expose per-row Console / Studio / IIA tier toggles — that distinction is about which Insites surface a single identity can sign into and is covered in Access levels.

Invite a workspace member#

  1. Open Members

Workspace dashboard → Members in the left nav (/members).

  2. Invite

Click Invite member, enter the email, pick a role (Admin), and submit. The invite appears under Pending invites with an expiry date.

  3. They accept

The invitee receives an email with a sign-up link. Once they accept, they appear under Workspace members with their last-active time.

You can Resend or Cancel a pending invite from the row's action area.

Add an external collaborator to a single project#

  1. Open project members

    Project home → Members sub-tab (/p/<id>/members).

  2. Invite

Under External collaborators, enter the email and send. They get a sign-up email scoped only to this project.

Workspace members already appear in the Workspace members group on this page; you don't add them again.

Remove access#

  • Workspace member: open /members, find the row, remove. They lose access to every project.
  • External collaborator: open the project's Members sub-tab, remove from the External collaborators list. They lose access to that one project; their workspace identity (if they have one elsewhere) is unaffected.

In both cases the action requires explicit confirmation.

Export the member list#

/members has an Export CSV button at the top — useful for audit, billing reconciliation, or bulk reviews.

Common questions#

Who counts as a billable seat? Every active workspace member and every pending invite is one seat. External collaborators are also seats. The Billing page's seat count reflects this.

Can someone be in multiple workspaces? Yes. They sign in once and switch via the workspace switcher.

What happens to their unsaved Studio edits when I remove them? Unsaved in-browser edits are local to their session. They lose them on removal — there's nothing to recover from the workspace side.
